Dr. Amal El Gamal
Dr. Amal Al-Jamal has a B.A in Media , M.A and PhD in The Philosophy of Arts. She has an extensive experience in film directing and producing and in writing scripts for documentary and feature films. She is also a film critic who writes in several Egyptian and Arabic journals and newspapers and is the author of books like, “In The Eyes of a Woman” and “Yousef Shahin and The Co-Production Experience”. Dr. Amal has been on the Jury Panel of several local and international film festivals around the world.

Ana Maria Lyaristi
Ana Maria Lyaristi obtained her MA degree in International Relations from the Instituto Ortega y Gasset in Madrid. She has directed several documentary films, TV programs and News. She worked as an editor and journalist covering events in Palestine, Egypt, UK, Italy and Canada. She has written many articles for Spanish and international media establishments. Ms. Lyaristi is fluent in seven languages including Arabic, English and French.

Mr. Gan was appointed a jury member in international film festivals.

Gulbara Tolomushova
Gulbara Tolomushova is a filmmaker from Kyrgyzstan. She studied Cinematography in Moscow, Russia and directed several documentary films. She is interested in the issues of human rights, arts and culture. She has written many articles about the Kyrgyz Cinema and edited several literary books. She was appointed a member of the jury panel in film festivals worldwide.

Dr. Habib Nasry
He earned his PHD from Muhammad VI University in Morocco, where he specialized in Criticism. He is a Professor, researcher, cinema critic, and the founder of the International Festival of Documentary Film in Khouribga, Morocco. He is interested in criticizing discourse in feature and documentary films according to a modern methodological perspective. He has published and co-published many research studies. In 2010, he won the National Merit Award in the field of Education. He organized and supervised many workshops that discuss film criticism. He was appointed the Chairman of the Jury Panel and a member of the Jury in various local and international film festivals.

Hady Zaccak
Mr. Hady Zaccak is a Lebanese award-winning documentary filmmaker and Professor at IESAV Film School in Saint Joseph University in Beirut. He is the author of more than 20 documentaries and a book on the history of the Lebanese cinema. In his documentaries, he attempts to revive history and record the present. He also talks about interesting issues like Arab capitals, religious groups, the Palestinian cause and Lebanese affairs. His works were screened in his home country and abroad.

Ida Gron
Ida Gron got her BA degree in Art History from the University of Copenhagen in Denmark and then received her MA in Documentary Directing from the Royal College of Art at the National Film and Television School in the United Kingdom. Her documentaries have been broadcasted on the national Danish TV and several Norwegian and French TV stations. Her film “The Kid and The Clown” won four international awards in 2012. She co-founded a website that groups artists (www.taggingart.com) and a festival for experimental video called “Made in Video”.

Giulia Amati
Giulia Amati studied Philosophy at the Università di Roma "La Sapienza" and "Digital Video Production" at New York University. She has worked with international broadcasters and corporate clients as a director, assistant director, cameraman and editor. She has also worked for humanitarian and foreign aid organizations such as UN/FAO, Caritas, EU/SCI. In 2010, she directed “This is my Land.. Hebron”, which has won more than twenty international awards, including the Aljazeera International Documentary Film Festival Award.

Dr. Kahled Hroub
Dr. Kahled Hroub is a professor of Middle Eastern Studies and Arab Media Studies at Northwestern University in Qatar and a senior research fellow at the Center of Islamic Studies in the University of Cambridge. He produced and presented the weekly program “The Book is The Best Companion” aired on Aljazeera Channel and the Documentary “Why the Arabs Hate the West” broadcasted on British Channel 4. In 2007, he served as a cultural and language adviser for the Hollywood movie “Flight 93”. He has written many papers and books in English and Arabic like “Hamas: A Beginner’s Guide” and “Religious Broadcasting in the Middle East”.

Maritza Ceballo
Ms. Maritza Ceballo Acosta graduated from the Havana University in Cuba and was appointed as a Professor of Communication Theory at the Journalism School. Since 2006, she has been working at the Prensa Latina Agency and the International Television of Cuba. She has directed more than 10 documentaries for the Cuban National Television and other production houses. Ms. Ceballo has also written scripts for documentaries, fiction series and short films, participated in international film festivals and won several awards. She is a member of the Cuban Organization of Young Writers and Artists and of the Cuban Union of Journalists.

Dr. Marzouq Bashir Bin Marzouq obtained his B.A in Literature and Theater Criticism from an Egyptian University, his M.A in Mass Communication and Media and his PhD in Educational Media from the State University of New York. He has worked as a university professor, writer and researcher. He was the Editor-in- Chief of The “Gulf Times” and is currently the Head of the Research and Cultural Studies Unit at the Ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage in Qatar. Dr. Marzouq has participated in many local, regional and international conferences and is involved in activities that discuss political, cultural, and media issues.

Sergio Trefaut
Sergio Trefaut got his Masters degree in Philosophy from the Sorbonne in Paris. He has worked as a journalist, director and producer whose films were screened in more than 30 countries. He was appointed as the Director of the Doclisboa International Film Festival from the year 2004 until 2010 and the President of the Portuguese Documentary Association. His documentaries have won accolades and his fiction film “Journey to Portugal” received prizes in the International Debut Film Festival “Spirit of Fire”, Gijon International Film Festival, etc. and was nominated for the Best Film and Best Actress Award in the Portuguese Golden Globes.
